$$$

This morning we found out that the Federal Government decided it could take care of student loans better than the private sector. This will probably mean that my husband will be out of a job sometime here soon. A friend of his at work described it like this:

We're going into phase 2 ~ This is where the Govt. funds begin to run out, unemployment, food stamps, and so on. This is where people start to panic.

Hearing that my husband would probably be out of employment made me panic a bit. We were just starting to get a handle on things again.

Bill to a look at our expenditures since the first of September and suggested we have already gone over budget. I really don't know how, he doesn't realize how much money I haven't spent! I should make up a list of those things and he'd see how good I've been. I hadn't even bought anything in the past 7 days! (Of course our fridge was as empty as a display model that's dirty and has something growing in the vegetable bin.) I told him he had it easy, all he has to do is go to work everyday. He's not tempted with the impulse purchases that seem to pop up everywhere!

I'm gonna use that temptation excuse on my husband, the man who LIVES and BREATHS budgets. I doubt he'll let it fly, but it's worth a try.
