Change

You know how you talk to someone then two days later a friend tells you your friend's life did a 180 and you say, "No way!  I just talked with her Last Thursday at 2:00 am in Meijer at the water re-fill station."  That's what I feel like has happened- about me!
So here it goes:
I sometimes scan jobs then ask BIll if I should apply, he always says 'no'. This time when I asked he said to go ahead and apply and we can always say no if we feel I shouldn't get it. So I applied for a Special Ed Aid at the Muncie Com Schools. The next day I was asked to come in for an interview at 8:00am the next morning (last Friday). So I did and was interviewed by 3 ladies. They told me about the openings at Southside and Wilson Middle school. nothing was really ringing...'ooh, I want that!' So I told them what I think I'm good at and what I enjoy doing, then they looked at each other and one of the ladies said that a little boy (about 6 or 7) just moved in who is completely deaf. They had already interviewed an interpreter and were getting ready to submit her when my ap came across her desk. She saw that I had interpreted for college graduation and felt I could be an interpreter for this little boy. I told them up front that I was not an interpreter and not capable of it and couldn't remember half of what I learned. They said no problem, they were more interested in my speech background helping this little guy with absolutely no language skills. The position I was interviewing for was 10.00 an hour, the interpreter position is 13.30. It will be at Washington, so I can walk there in 12 minutes tops. I called Bill and told him, and he felt very peaceful about it. We had the kids pray and they too felt good about it. Bill will still get 5 to 6 hours of studio time a day, plus he wants to work on projects around the house.
I called in this morning to follow up and they said that my papers had been sent in to be approved and I would still need to do the background check and drug test.  So chances were that I wouldn't be able to start Wednesday.   They would have to get in a sub for the little guy on his first day.  Later I got a call saying if I could come in today for the background and drug test I could get OKed as a sub then they would switch me to full time interpreter.
So starting tomorrow I will follow my children out the door and be back right before they are. (My working hours are 8:15 to 2:45) Of course this is after our wonderful hour at seminary!
So after 20 years of being out of the work force I am employed.  It's been a very peaceful and miraculous turn of events.
I just love this guy!  I may go through some "Enoch withdrawl"
