Warning: You need to read this- especially if you're a woman!

I rode my (actually Bill's) bike to church on Sunday. We were down to one vehicle and I thought it might help with seating...plus I enjoy being outdoors and it was a beautiful day!
So after church I ran into the bathroom with my trusty backpack and changed into my newly (thrift store) acquired Gloria Vanderbilt jeans.

They're very comfy and they're one of the few pair that I have that don't flare out - this makes it easier not to get my pant legs caught in the chain. I catch my family to drop off the backpack and Tawny says, "look how cute she looks in her little mom jeans." Excuse me?? MOM JEANS? I know I am not a fashion aficionado, but I do try to stay with the times ~a little bit.

I thought the only thing I can do now is to warn others. I would hate to see you lumped into the 'mom jean genre'. Tawny said later that the light blue denim is trying to make a come back - but it just hasn't happened, and she doesn't think it will. I didn't think bell bottoms would either - so I'm holding onto these...just in case.

I only wear flare and boot cut. I hate "ankle biters", I like the darker colors because then they last longer and they look like the expensive "used" jeans from the mall-but I wore them for 3 years before that!

ya, mom jeans are not necessarily the light blue ones, they are the jeans that have a longer zipper. My daughter (who works at Aeropostle) makes sure I'm not wearing the mom jeans, and she says light blue is fine.
