Kristie's movie reviews

Bill decided to take me on a date last night. The only movie that was really an option was Night at the Museum - part 2. We didn't have high expectations, sequels are usually a disappointment, but not this time. The characters were great! If I were still homeschooling I would have my kids pick a museum character and do a research paper on him/her - then have them watch the movie again and see if the movie character was true to what they found....hmmm, summer school! Another movie in the theaters, but not in five buck club yet, is 'Up'. My kids watch the 'Upisodes' all the time (click on the pic to see them). It looks great! Anyone seen it yet - what's your opinion? I love Netfilx - I can get the movies that wouldn't normally be available in Muncie. Errand of Angles is a wonderful story about two sister missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints (LDS). I could tell my kids weren't real excited to watch it, but they all ended up loving it!Pirates of the Great Salt Lake in another movie that came through netflix. It is an LDS-ish movie. It was much funnier the 2nd and 3rd times (I didn't sit and watch it that many times, the kids did and I would pop in now and then). There were a few of the 'minor' four letter words and a couple of people were killed, but their ghosts remained and still had a nice time. Anyway, it's grown on me, the pawn shop owner is a crack up!Some other movies out on DVD now that anyone can get through Redbox are Paul Blart and New in Town - movies we want to add to our permanent collection. Blart just cracked me up from the beginning. Bill said he thought it started kind of sad, but I guess I laugh at other people's pain...New in Town was a sleeper. We had never heard of it. We saw the poster and saw that it was 'PG'. So we gave it a shot, and there were no regrets! I'm a bit peeved about Land of the Lost. When we looked it up on Dove (always look it up on Dove - no surprises that way!!) it said the language was in the red zone (4) because of an 'F' bomb and the Lord's name is taken in vain. It seemed like it was going to be a family friendly movie...grrr...
Imagine That got the Dove 5 star rating, so there should be a couple of decent movies this summer.
What movies have you seen that you loved (DVD or theater)?

Sal has seen Up and he said it was a really cute movie. He really liked it.

thanks for the movie review. Someday when I can stay awake through one, I'll have to try a couple of these out!

I saw Up the other day. It was really good, but a bit sad in some places.

im not really sure I liked Pirates of the Great Salt Lake. It didn't make sense and it was kinda dirty in some parts.
