I have thought on her surety of her role as a child of God, and her excitement of thinking she was personally recognized by a speaker in General Conference. I began thinking about how I view myself and what my relationship with Father in Heaven is. I think it's so easy to use my relationship with my earthly dad as a guide for Heavenly Father. I love my dad, but we're not really close, we might talk 2 or 3 times a year, for maybe 5 to 10 minutes. I don't really look to him for advice or counsel, and our realtionship has suffered much throughout the years. I'm afraid I have put up some sort of block when it comes to my Heavenly Father and wasn't aware of it until now. I pray daily, morning and night, I study my scriptures, but I think much of it has been done because I'm 'supposed' to do it, not because I want to. I plan to be like Danni and know that when "A Child of God" is mentioned, that's me!
On another note...today is Harrison's birthday!! He is now 15. We had a fun cook-out inside, due to the fact that the boys packed the grill in the garage behind 172 tables with no legs! (plus it was kind of chilly today!) We went to our new meat store over on Wheeling and had very good freshly ground chuck hamburgers, and some organic braught from the Farmstand (We eat so little meat - so when we do, we try to get good stuff!). I made buns - very good, If you want the recipe go here or click on my bun pic.
A very yummy mint chocolate chip ice cream cake!
The lethargy of a huge meal and a fun night!
Harrison doesn't read my blog, so I'm not going into a lengthy letter to him, but I will let you know, he's a great kid!

Kids are just so darn smart! They FEEL things that I think we as adults think about too much. Danni is too cute.
Happy Birthday to Harrison!
