This has been a very busy weekend! It all started Friday night with our Ward talent show. We were missing some family members but the rest of us made a go at it. We did an awsome Weird All-esk re-write of "Don't Stand So Close To Me", then performed a skit to it. It's up on Youtube (if you're family and want to watch go here...otherwise it's really is silly and you won't want to waste your time).
After trying to digest that news I took 11 freezing young men and young women out to photograph them. (We had an extra - but it all worked out fine!) You can see their photos here.
These young people then ate a very nice gormet meal of a veggie relish tray (thanks Jeani), cheese enchiladas (thanks Tawny), Chicken Cordon Blue (Thanks Lori Ann), fun wedding cookies (Thanks Deb), great cheesy potatoes (Lori Ann again!), homemade rolls and cheesecake on a stick (both me).Tawny took a van load out to Fishers for the prom, and Lori Ann and I took our sons and their dates. Mormon prom is a local idea for the youth to enjoy prom without the cost of tickets, the imodest dressses, rank music, and so on. It's not limited to members of the church, in fact only 4 out of the 11 youth at our place were LDS. It is limited to people between the age of 16 and 18.
From all the reports I've recieved, they had a great time.
While they were dancing it up at prom Lori Ann and I went to a movie then out to Steak and Shake for shakes (and onion rings, my fav!)
Mother's day was relaxing. The kids gave me a bag of Ghirardelli chocolate squares...yum! David had sent me some cool turtle earings, plus gifts for everyone else. Bill and the kids cleaned the kitchen for me - probably the best gift!
We were able to get a call from David (Missionaries can call home on Mother's Day and Christmas). It was nice hearing his voice. He's doing so well out there! I'll share more when I post his blog for the week.

Prom is so fun and I'm glad the Church offers something more modest/free/with less peer pressure to the kids. Everyone looks beautiful! I especially love the yellow dress...it's gorgeous!
I can't imagine how awesome it must have been for you to talk to David. I'm glad to hear that he is doing well.
