top 10 of '09

I have a friend who used to always ask me what new things I had discovered lately. So I thought I would try to remember the new things I have discovered in 2009...

1~ Sephora! I love the selection of natural & organic makeup and beauty products.

2~Sybaris! If I don't get a chance to go at least once in 2010 I will cry.

3~ Shannon Hale! So far I've read Goose Girl, Princess Academy, Book of a thousand days, Austinland, and now I'm in Enna Burning....she better start writing faster!

4~Size 12 jeans! Yes, one of my best Christmas presents was finally fitting into size 12 again - ok, so it's not new new, but new within the last 10 years! (I will be giving a full report on my progress soon!)

5~ Being 40 rocks...I love it!

6~ Brady's cheese sprinkles from Penzeys....I can get my kids to eat anything if I sprinkle some on. Actually the discovery of Penzeys in general has been a lovely find.

7~ Modern Family. It's a TV show. I love how even the so called 'functional' families have quirks. I haven't watched one episode where I haven't cried at the end...I'm a boob, comes with being a size 12 40 year old. I (heart) hulu!

8~ I'm OK with the realization that two of my children will be flying the nest in 2010. I'm excited about David's mission, and I think Tawny is very ready for college (I just hope they're ready for her!).

9 ~ Genealogy - I am doing it - finally! Between Bill & I only one line has work done, so there's been a flood of information, we've learned quite a bit about our [gnarly] family tree.

10~ A family of 9 can survive with one vehicle. There's nowhere in Muncie I can't ride a bike or bus to. It gets a little harder with the wee ones, but it's do-able.

I'm excited to experience another year of glorious discoveries. What have you discovered that I might want to know about?
