the power of touch

I love to give massages!  I'm very good at it, thanks to my grandma helping me learn at a very young age.

I have some who actually pay me for my services!  I unfold my portable table in our bedroom, it takes up about 60% of the available floor space left and many times I'm stepping over the corner of our bed to get from side to side of the table.

After I'm done and the customer has left I usually find a line up out side our door waiting for a turn.  The first kid is usually already laying on the table waiting.  Even Danni likes a good massage.  I've been massaging my kids since they were born, so it's very second nature.

I noticed as I was rubbing away the stress and tenseness out of one of my daughter's backs that some walls that have been up lately were also being worked through.  We were able to talk and visit while I poured love through my finger tips into her back.

I'm now leaving the table up, I like the magnetism with the kids.  I like that ability to give them this service and have them open up to me while I'm doing it.  I like that!

I think our society has gotten so much into drive throughs, self check outs, and online business that we're losing something essential to survival.  I picture it like we are each a battery and in order for it to keep a charge we need to get energy from others.  We have a very real energy field around us and it can radiate good or bad energy to others.  Haven't you ever had an experience where you can just feel negativity exuding out of someone?  Or even evil?  Or love? I think that's how our spirit works.  It's the battery that keeps our bodies going, and when our bodies can't handle that energy we feel sometimes we cry.  And when our bodies have worn out or get damaged and it dies, our spirit's energy keeps on going (like the energizer bunny:-) I think that's why we can sometimes 'feel' a deceased relative around us.

I have had a couple of times when I can feel another person longing for some sort of human contact, for love, like a parched man in the desert longing for a drink of water.  Its so sad.

So I'm exhorting you to touch your children, your family & those you love -hug, massage, hold hands, tickle their back, brush their hair, hold them on your lap (even if they're 15 and weigh more than you:-), touch their arm.  Let the power and energy from your spirit touch theirs, it has the ability to say way more than we can with mere words!

On Friday nights (provided Big Sal is working) Little Sal and I watch a movie. After dinner, we pop some popcorn and we get some blankets and we watch a movie. We skip bathtime and we go to bed late. It's our "date" I guess. While we watch, he loves to have his feet rubbed. It always makes me think of you.

Everynight after bath, we put lotion on. Not just on Little Sal. No no. He likes to rub my arms and my hands too. If i'm not wearing socks, he'll do my feet.

People need to be touched. This is a great post!

I can vouch for your massage skills. Remember when I hurt my neck about six year ago? You might not, but I do. It really hurt. That was such a good massage you gave me then.
