One thing I can always count on in this wonderful church is change! And change has happened. I have been released from being 2nd counselor in the primary to being called as the compassionate service leader. This is my first time with a calling in the Relief Society. Of course the feelings I have are no different than any body else's - sadness from leaving an organization that is so dear and fun and fulfilling. I made a goal very early in my life to never leave a calling with any regrets. I want to do all within my power to fulfill my calling ~ I'm far from perfect and was the cause of many problems I'm sure. I just want to go on with out any "If I'd only done....".
So now for good or for bad I'm only a memory in Primary. (unless I'm needed for subbing:-)
Now I'm on to the next step in my life. Compassion has never been a forte, ask my kids! I am a 'doer' and I do like to make things happen. I can't stand talking on the phone (and it looks like that's 80% of the calling from the research I've done so far....), but I'm good at visits to homes. So I see many areas that I'll be able to grow in, and hopefully areas that I'll be a benefit. Pray for me -please- and I'm open to any advice, since this is so new to me!

I think you are compassionate by nature, and I know you will do a great job. :)
You are far more than a memory in Primary. You have been so instrumental in helping lots of special young children develop testimonies that will carry them through the tough times.
You've left a hole, to be sure, but the ripples of your influence will go on and on. Thanks for sharing a few ripples with me.
I second Lindsay's opinion. You'll be a great compassionate service leader!
Kristie, you've never had a position that you haven't excelled in and I have no doubt that you'll excel with this one too!! You have tons of compassion (you just like to act tough) I love you so much!!! Mom
