painting, peaches, & poison ivy

This is Danni unfolding the name she drew for our painting give away - Congratulations Becky Toner from Pueblo Colorado! Enoch turns one year this month, and we really should celebrate what a gift his life has been to us by offering another give away in his honor - so keep watching for the next give away!

This is the last of our fresh peaches... we have a few gallons safely stored away in our freezer. Aurora found some interesting things to do with the peelings....

Bill spent the (very hot) day pulling poison ivy from our in-law's place. His brother and wife and two boys will be moving in at the end of the week. We're working very hard to try to take care of some of the more unpleasant chores around the place. Bill reminded me of a transformer!

The rest of us spent Labor Day, well laboring. The children were quick with subtle hints about child labor laws and the meaning of vacation time from school. Their soft whines and whimpering were well placed to attempt some sort of guilt or pity that parents are supposed to posses (according to them). In the end they completed the jobs assigned...and get this... they lived! My kids are amazing!
