golden nuggets

I was whining about my hair (not really new news...). I don't understand why my hair is such a factor on my contentment meter, but it is. A friend said she had never gotten a bad hair cut from Fantastic Sams, so while in Indy this past Saturday I got a cut ( my annual one). I really did like it, and $13.00 is way better than a $30.00 hair cut! I've also chosen to let my hair grow into it's natural color, and that includes silver (some call it grey, but that's really not a pretty word). I guess My whining must have been out loud because my husband overheard. He researched thick curly hair on the Internet and has been instructing me on proper hair care... now come on, do I have man of the year or what!?

Last night we were discussing the fact that unless Bill or I are home nothing gets done. Even though they have had jobs in this family since before they can remember (how many days to develop a habit? yeah right) for some reason when we are gone other things take precedence, like going to face book, or eating every crumb of food in the house. So since the children are of age where this type of thing shouldn't happen we decided to let them give suggestions on fixing this small problem. One suggested I clean everything, then when they get home it won't take as long for them...genius!

Coming home from church my nephew Philly said something about going to McDonald's. David instantly elaborated on how bad the food is there and how it kills people (a little overboard?). Philly thought for a second then told David that that's not how it is with Idaho McDonald's (where he's lived until three weeks ago).

If I pucker Enoch knows that's kiss time and he leans forward and envelopes my mouth with a sloppy perfect kiss!

Preparing for an aerobics class I'm starting to teach at the church, I was developing my routine. The girls were all in the kitchen washing dishes and dancing with me. I did the 'pony' and Tawny informed me she was scarred for life and suggested I never do that step in public.

This morning the mist was coming off the river and the light of the morning sun shone through the leaves just starting to turn, it was splendid. I'm so grateful I got to see that!

c'mon Tawny - everbody loves the "pony"! ;) I'm a cheap haircut fan, too. I've spent lots of money and gotten terrbile cuts, so I figure I might as well take my chances and save some bucks.
