I have noticed that some friends of mine have blogs and they are marked as private. So here's the quandry...
Do I ask them if I can be invited to their blog and make them uncomfortable because maybe they don't want me there? What if they sent me an invite long ago before I knew what blogging was, what if they sent me one and my email bumped it out (it has done that before)?

I think there are tasteful ways of asking for an invite. Mentioning to them that you saw they have a blog and, how fun -- you have one, too! Maybe we could read each other's? Oftentimes people create private blogs because they want to have better control over who is reading, but generally speaking they're not opposed to more readers. I say ask. What's the harm? Just make sure you do it kindly.
You're so wise Lindsay!
I say as long as you don't go and kill off their youngin's nobody cares if you ask, ask anyway, say Hey= I want to be invited, unless, it is a personal journal, then No thank you. My kids is private, and yes you are invited, and you can tell your family they are too, just need to put them on the "list"
Ask...I'm sending you an invite now (because I can't remember if I ever sent one before). I am private for the security aspect, but don't mind more readers. Ask.
