to pierce or not to pierce

Since Danni has decided she wants short hair I have an irresistible urge to get her ears pierced. I think it looks so cute on girls with pixie cuts to have little earring studs. The problem is that we made a rule that the girls can't get their ears pierced until they're 8. We figured that if they're old enough to choose membership in the church, then they're old enough to decide if they want extra holes put in their body. So now do I over-ride the rule since all the other girls are already mostly grown, or do I hold out? We all know the youngest (youngest girl in this case) doesn't have it as strict as the rest anyway.
Now jumping to the oldest. David has been moved from Waxahachie (it's a shame, I can finally spell it), to Weatherford TX. It came as a shock and he's had a rough week, 3 flat tires (one brand new, one spare, one of the old tires) his bank he had in the first area didn't have a branch in the second area, so he's had to borrow money from people, one randome guy about his age helped him out last night by loaning him enough money to repair the tire and get some gas. His sales are low because of all the other stuff he's dealing with, he's supposed to get a new license to sell in each new area and there's hold ups there. The final straw came last night when he was waiting patiently for two cars who were stopped in the middle of the road talking to each other. He waited two or three minutes and they finally drove off, as he passed the one he smiled and nodded to them and they flipped him off. He broke down and cried for the first time since he left. I just wanted to go out there and hold my baby for just a little bit. He's fine this morning and feeling positive again. I'm going to send him out a care package this week. Ill post his address if anyone else wants to send him a card, note, or package too. I'll wait until I know for sure he'll be at the same place, he's concerned about his roommate, he was a little drunk last night, so there might be some changes made today. Just pray for him!

To pierce or not to pierce? That is a tough one. I think, though, that I'd lean towards sticking the my own rules and making her wait. But that's just me. (I like consistency, I guess.)

Also, what exactly is David doing in TX? Sounds like he's having some crazy adventures. I hope things start to get better for him!

I personaly love little kids with pierced, but maka forbids, not untill there 18. ouch!! but you go how you feel, nobody can live or make choices for you, but then again when I had boy short hair, when I was little, I am glad for the earrings so they could tell the differece. :}

I agree with everyone else...I think I would wait. I always hated it when the younger siblings got away with things I couldn't. :)

Well, Kristie, I know better than to think I can give you advice anymore!! LOL!! I think you should do whatever you feel is right. I'm a strong believer in following my gut!! (Please no fat jokes!!! Yikes!!)

Re David ~ I just called him and asked him why he got a little drunk last night. I read him the last sentence you wrote, Kristie. I told him "Your Mom wrote a sentence in the blog that if you read it just right indicated you got a little drunk last night" and then I read it to him and we both laughed about it. In fact we're still talking and laughing!!
