My route takes me through the park. It must have been a busy weekend with people who also love nature, or else why would they have been out? Some must have loved it enough to stay through at least one diaper change - I know I saw the diaper left on the grass. Some must have loved it enough to picnic by the river - I know because I saw the fast food bags, napkins and cups strewn by the shore. Some must have loved it enough to take off their shoes and dip their toes in the refreshing water - I know, I saw their socks crumpled in the mud. Water bottles, cigarette butts, six pack holders, and on and on... They must have been busy because these people couldn't seem to make the trek of 10 to 20 steps to the nearest trash can.
My disappointment in my fellow man felt like that of the Indian in the 70s commercial - do you remember it? He's on his horse overlooking a littered valley, and he cries a tear. I didn't cry though, I just wanted to kick some butt!
